When I first heard this song, I felt so moved. I have totally fallen in love with the beautiful lyrics. Although this song is meant for a wife, I thought this is exactly what I feel like for my husband alhamdulillah. Once upon a time, I used to think love is just an illusion especially seeing the way love is depicted in the media. Seeing friends falling in love and act so crazily used to make me really annoyed. I even started to believe there is nothing called love; it's just lust but people are too embarrassed to use this term so they just call it 'love'. But I knew as Muslims we are supposed to wait till we get married then we will eventually find love but I wasn’t really sure about it. As I was single, I just thought that's just not going to happen. But Alhamdulillah marriage has completely changed my doubts about love. In Islam, love is very important and it is truly celebrated through marriage.  A loveless marriage is not really a marriage.

When Allah SWT talks about this beautiful relationship , He says “And among His Signs is this that He created for you spouses of your own kind, that you may dwell in tranquillity with them, and He has put love and mercy for one another: verily in that are Signs for those who reflect.” (Quran 30:21)
I didn't really appreciate this verse until I got married. Now whenever I come across this beautiful verse I know what it means to be married alhamdulillah. Love is not just some feelings that are merely based on lust. It is definitely way more than that. Alhamdulillah we are best friends of each other. Allah swt didn't just mention love but also mercy and kindness as main qualities for a couple to have. Love is like a seed and through care and giving lots of time and energy we can make love grow eternally. I hope and make dua to Allah swt to make us love each more and more and reunite us in jannah, Ameen.  I am dedicating this song to you Yobo!

Five years Alhamdulillah :-)

Alhamdulillah five years ago, on this day I got married to my husband. It took me quite a long time to find him :-) I used to tell my friend at university and at work, that I may never get married and live for the rest of my life with 99 cats! I don't know where I got this idea from but I was indeed quite worried about my future. I have always been a big fan of children. For me the biggest fear was the prospect of being childless forever! I have seen quite a lot of brothers through family and friends. The more I was going through these meetings, I was getting frustrated thinking this is not really working for me and love is just a myth! Alhamdulillah going to hajj in 2006 has made me help put things into perspective. I started to think more seriously about the purpose of my life. I even wrote in my diary that marriage is not an ultimate goal for me anymore. I am surrounded by special sisters. They are always there for me. During my hardship, they help me with their kind words and beautiful dua. I know I can rely on them. I know that they keep me in their precious dua. They are my soul sisters. And the special love they have for me is priceless. I can't buy this love. A love so pure and precious subhanallah!
